The desire for this, the lust for that 
wandering of the mind hither and tither 
Oh, the lure of gratification instant  
And yet, should I indulge in the dance or focus on the dancer? 

The cast in stone opinions and lenses of “my” hues 
When challenged, causing uncontrolled rage and anger 
Oh, the unbridled love for self-made world views 
And yet, should I indulge in the dance or focus on the dancer?

The desperate hanging on to relationships ephemeral, 
Confusing between love and obsessive care 
Oh, the letting loose of imagination feral
And yet, should I indulge in the dance or focus on the dancer? 

The clinging to things material 
Accumulating more for now and forever 
Oh, the meaningless pursuits of life unreal 
And yet, should I indulge in the dance or focus on the dancer?

Who else but I, claims the mighty ego 
Busy covering the truth with masks superior 
Oh, the love for me that wouldn’t let go 
And yet, should I indulge in the dance or focus on the dancer? 

The pangs of frustration and envy 
When the mind invents ways to suffer 
Oh, the inability to see the oneness of this journey 
And yet, should I indulge in the dance or focus on the dancer?

The snow capped mountains, stoic and steady
Making every aspect of life beautiful and heady
Oh Shiva, the cause of this cosmic dance
The Dancer who dances from a trance !

We may feel that we ought to judge between the dance and rhe dancer but the reality is different...it's our instinct based on the previous births and the alms if the almighty that we would choose a right path towards spirituality...

What's the need, to focus on dancer or indulge in dancing ? Both are eternal.

Leave prejudice towards life and the accompanying baggage. Nurture relations and create memories.

Remember, you can become dancer too and indulge in dancing, for that, what is required is living the life as its bestowed.

The solitary reaper (of grief)

"I have nothing to gain" The woman was probably in her late fifties. She had kind eyes and a smile that can be best described as sad. She was reclining against one of the poles of a ragtag makeshift tent. A variety of pieces of cloth were laid on the ground with different vegetables arranged or sorted in no particular order. The place was literally the middle of nowhere, at least from my perspective. Somewhere along the way as I drove from one small town to another, places that were well away from Hyderabad to be considered remote though not too far from it. The winter sun was kind yet scorching and it was still early in the noon. As I drove through multiple tiny hamlets, I stopped at this lady's makeshift store hoping to buy some good quality vegetables that are farm fresh. Agniveers everywhere

"Aap ki gaadi tho phas gayi sir"  He joined me as I looked in disbelief at my new car that just got its first dose of reality.  When I chose the parking slot in the morning, it looked like the perfect spot to easily reach the exit on my way out. So I manuvered the car to park there after driving through the spot just behind. If I had chosen the other lane then I'd had to do a reverse parking which is a pain. For various reasons I couldn't see a large box hanging down the roof at the entrance of the parking slot (if I had chosen to reverse maybe I'd have spotted it). The reasons for missing it, like I said, are various and varied. That's not the point though.   Anyways, as I started drivng out in a hurry while monkey balancing a serious conversation on the mobile phone, the top of the car hit that low hanging box and made a dent.
